Please use the PowerPoint presentation shown below as a EXAMPLE of what I expect from each team for our next class. Each team will have at least 30 minuutes to present their project: How would you use the principles of B2B marketing to "diffuse" the EIS Simulation Workshop in France in a particular industry or organization.

Death by PowerPoint

Here is a link to a version, en français, of the famous "Death by PowerPoint" presentation about ... presentations.

Review it to help you and your team have a clear, focused and solid presentation on February 4.

Laptop computers?

As a suggestion - even recommendation: for class on Wednesday, 21st of January, please plan to bring your laptop computers (well, at least one per team) as that will allow you to both make your presentations and do research later in the session.

Reading assignments (to do BEFORE Tuesday)

Here are a few documents (just 3) that I'd like you to peruse before our next session.

In these readings you might find ideas that recall your own insights during the EIS Simulation. In any case, you will find key concepts and ideas that can help you in the preparation of your team presentations. Also, on Tuesday, we will discuss these key concepts ... and how they relate to business organizations in France .

Here are links to the readings:

1. The Tipping Point (How to start a revolution)

2. Change Management: Bridging the ‘Knowing-Doing’ Gap

3. Behind the EIS Simulation: An Overview of Underlying Models

Good reading ... and, as usual, if you have any questions, concerns or doubts just contact me or leave a comment here on the blog.

WORK to PREPARE for Wednesday 21 January 2009

Hello B2B students!

Thanks to your attention and participation the EIS Simulation Workshop we ran last Thursday was a big success. I especially appreciate how everyone took on the role of "change agents" and seriously tried to get the maximum of adopters (including Anne) ... while, at the same time, observing your own reactions of those of your team to what you were learning.

NOW it is time for you, as teams to prepare a short (4 to 5 minutes) presentation (you can use PowerPoint) that each team will present on TUESDAY 21/01 regarding what you learned. This is the first thing we will do so please be prepared. Each team will present then answer questions from the other teams and myself.

You can use the worksheet that is in the EIS Handout (you can get the entire handout here: http://www.calt.insead.edu/eis/EISDocs/French/Simulation%20EIS%20Handout%202.65f.pdf) but you only have to focus on the page that outlines the "Do's" and "Don'ts" that you yourselves learned at the level of Strategy and Tactics (the Initiatives) and any other areas you observed (like teamwork or decision-making style or timeliness and efficiency). You have a sample of the page in the image above.

I would be very interested to have INDIVIDUAL comments from any student ... but will expect (and will count towards the final class grade) a TEAM presentation on next Wednesday.

I would like to have all the presentations sent to me (at jose.pietri@yahoo.com) by NOON on Tuesday 21 January.

Afterward we will delve deeper into the simulation workshop as an offering to businesses for helping to teach Change Readiness to their employees. So we will look at EIS as if it were a "product" for management education.

Afterwards I will share with you the work done by last year's students so you will have a practical idea of what we wnat to produce.

The remainng time will allow you, in teams, to brainstorm WHERE (which enterprises or organizations) and HOW (using the principles of B2B marketing) you would enter the market with the EIS offering. I will also want you to outline a workplan that ensures that everyone on the team participates and that you will be able to perform the work necessary to produce your final reports and presentations within two weeks (our last class in on February 4).

There are also some post-workshop readings that I'd like you to do - but I will include those in another, separate, note on this blog.

If you have any questions please do not hesitate to e-mail me or leave a comment here.
